Brunswick football to hold bottle drive
BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick High School football team will be holding a bottle drive fundraiser on Saturday between 9 a.m. and noon. Bottles can be dropped of at Fast Cash Redemption on Bath Road near the Fat Boy Drive In restaurant.
Proceeds from the drive will go to helping the Dragons program this upcoming season.
Maine basketball HOF golf tourneys
FORT FAIRFIELD/FALMOUTH — The Maine Basketball Hall of Fame will be hosting two golf tournaments this summer.
The first will be the 5th Annual Aroostook County Golf Scramble, held at the Aroostook Valley Country Club in Fort Fairfield on Aug. 1. Registration is between 10-10:45 a.m., with a shotgun start at 11 a.m.
Guidelines include a four person team, with a field limited to the first 40 paid teams. Entry fee is $65 per person and includes a steak or chicken barbecue.
Over $4,000 in prizes will be awarded to the top two gross teams and top eight net teams. In addition, golfers will have a chance to win two, hole-in-one prizes, including a new 2015 Honda Civic (supplied by Griffeth Honda of Presque Isle) and a $10,000 cash prize sponsored by The Par and Grill in Caribou.
Closest to the pin and the Boondocks Grille longest drive will also be held. An auction will also be held along with the BBQ.

The 2nd Annual Maine Basketball Hall of Fame Golf Scramble will take place at the Falmouth Country Club on Aug. 10, with a tee time of 8 a.m.
The event is sponsored by G&E Roofing in Augusta. Entry and sponsorship fees include an individual cost of $125, a team cost of $625 and a tee sponsorship at $200.
