BRUNSWICK — Barbara Ranger Moscato, age 77, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at home after a courageous battle with ALS.

She was born in Farmington on June 14, 1938, the daughter of Arthur and Doris Ranger.

She attended Farmington schools. She received her bachelor of science in education in 1960 from the University of Maine at Farmington. She then received her master’s degree in New York.

She lived in New York City for 35 years and worked as an elementary schoolteacher in the NYC school system for 29 years. She retired to babysit her first grandchild.

She moved back to Maine in 2002. In 2008, she married her best friend and partner of 30 years, Sal Moscato.

She was a world traveler. She traveled with an alumni group from UMF. She traveled to England, France, Greece, Holland, Africa, Australia, Alaska and Canada.

She was very involved in the Brunswick community. She participated in the Red Hat Society, Maine State Theatre Usher ( Angel), High School Mentoring Program, Eucharistic Minister at St. Charles, involved in the Turner Family Group at St. Charles and Retired Teachers Association.

She enjoyed gardening, reading, watching TV, sending cards to those in need, fishing, going to yard sales and spending time with her family.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and good friend. She will be greatly missed.

Brunswick is a daughter Kathryn Buckley Jeffcoats and her husband Tim of Greene. A brother Eugene Ranger and his wife Meredith of Farmington and also survived by two grandchildren Meghan and David.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, June 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 25 at 1 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church-All Saints Parish, McKeen Street, Brunswick.
