FARMINGDALE (AP) — Authorities say a 2-year-old Farmingdale boy is clinging to life in a hospital after being found face down in his family’s swimming pool.
Kennebec County Sheriff Randall Liberty said Cody Campbell was found floating in the above-ground pool by his mother at about 7:45 a.m. Thursday.
Cody was taken to Maine- General Medical Center in Augusta before being flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland where he was in critical condition on Thursday night.
Liberty tells the Kennebec Journal the boy had a pulse but no brain activity.
He says the incident remains under investigation but does not appear suspicious.
Liberty reminded homeowners to secure their pools with fences and locks so children won’t have access.
