WALES — The Mt. Ararat Middle School eighth-grade softball team beat Oak Hill, 10-4 on Tuesday,
Mt. Ararat pitcher Kate Guerin went three innings with four strikeouts and six walks, while Alana Weaver twirled four innings with five strikeouts and a walk.
Oak Hill pitcher Charlotte Waterman struck out seven and walked six.
For the Eagles, Mikaila Cloutier had two triples and a single, Katelyn Cox a single and triple, and Samantha Gonyea a single and double. Rhiannon Hersey chipped in with a double.
Mt. Ararat scored four runs early runs and two in the third to surge ahead.
Oak Hill center fielder Makenzie LeBlanc was a defensive standout, while Mt. Ararat’s Bella Slocum made a nice catch in left field in the fifth inning.
