FREEPORT HIGH SCHOOL partnered with Freeport police, Fire, Rescue and Public Works Rescue departments in conducting a car crash simulation to students Friday, May 29, using aspects from the program, “Every 15 Minutes.” FHS student actors also participated that simulated a student fatality and injuries as a consequence of impaired driving. Here, a Freeport High School student is secured on a stretcher by Freeport rescue workers. With prom taking place the next day — Saturday, May 30 — the intent of the simulation was to instill in teenagers the dangerous consequences of drinking alcohol, texting, and/or using drugs while driving.
