BOWDOINHAM
Police arrested a Bowdoinham resident late Monday night on a charge of aggravated assault after he allegedly tried to strangle his girlfriend.
Brian Thomas, 46, was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.
Sagadahoc County Sheriff Joel Merry said Tuesday the victim was taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Police responded to the initial call at a Craft Road residence, Merry said. They eventually tracked Thomas down at the residence at around midnight, Merry said.
