FREEPORT — Jack Davenport and Nick Cartmell each slugged a home run as the Freeport High School baseball team rolled to a 12-3 Western Maine Conference win over Lake Region on Thursday.
Davenport launched a three-run dinger in the third inning for a 4-0 Falcons lead, and Cartmell’s two-run shot highlighted a five-run fourth as Freeport (6-6) jumped out to a 9-0 edge.
Cole Harrison singled, doubled and drove in five runs for the Falcons, and Connor Dietrich had two hits, including a double.
James Purdy went the distance for the win, striking out four, walking one and permitting five hits.
Jordan Williams homered for Lake Region (2-9).
Freeport visits Falmouth on Monday, the first of four road contests to close the regular season.
