BATH — The Morse High School softball team plated six runs in both the fourth and sixth innings for an 18-5 Mercy Rule Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Belfast on Monday.
Tied 4-4, the Shipbuilders (6-5), who had 16 hits, claimed a 10-4 advantage.
“It was nice to see the bats come alive after only getting two hits in our last game,” said Morse coach Will Laffely, whose Shipbuilders visit Mt. View on Friday at 4 p.m.
Marissa Parks was solid on the mound for Morse. She allowed five hits, stuck out seven and did not permit a walk. At the plate, Parks homered and singled, while three hits came off the bats from Meghan Stover (double, two singles) and Sara Graves (three singles). Hope Faulkingham, Leia Graves and Sierra Wallace added two hits apiece.
Eliza Clark pitched for Belfast (1-10), allowing 16 hits, walking four, hitting two batters and striking out seven. Keli Faulkingham and Vanessa Grotten each doubled.

Becca Howard ripped a three-run triple in the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie as the visiting Rebels downed the Greyhounds in Mountain Valley Conference action.
Howard’s tie-breaking hit plated Katie Merrill, Ashley Savage and Sadie Ellsworth as part of a five-run sixth, and Howard picked up two more RBIs in the seventh with another triple to give Telstar a 9-2 mark.
Lisbon committed seven errors in the game.
“We beat ourselves,” said Lisbon coach Terri Tlumac, whose 5-5 Greyhounds visit Carrabec on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. “We self-destruct. We can’t stop the bleeding. Costly errors at the wrong time.”
Olivia York picked up the mound win on six hits, nine strikeouts and two walks. She also went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Kailyn Hill pitched for Lisbon. She allowed nine hits, four walks and struck out nine. Ali Sult and Monica Austin each had two hits.

The Dragons opened up a five-game road trip with a KVAC loss at Fairfield.
Brunswick opened the scoring when Shelby Plourde scorched a two-out single, stole second and scored on a Gianna Gaudet single to center field.
Lawrence responded in the home half of the first inning, taking advantage of four Dragons errors to plate five runs. Haley Holt, who collected three hits for the Bulldogs, had the big hit with a two-run single.
The Dragons battled to close the score to 5-3. Emily Girardin walked in the second inning and stole second and third base before scoring on a Hannah Escoe fielder’s choice. Brunswick scored again in the third when Allie Eck reached base on a walk . Eck stole her 10th base of the season and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Ashley Howe. Gaudet drove Eck home with her second base hit.
Lawrence added two runs each in the fourth and fifth inning before scoring six runs in the sixth to end the contest. Lilly Herrin pitched well for Lawrence, limiting the Dragons to three hits. Sydney Knowlton and Katie Lindsay had two hits each to spark the Bulldog offense.
Brunswick (1-10) visits Messalonskee on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
