BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College junior Andrew Madlinger has been named Maine Men’s Basketball Coaches Association Co-Player of the Week.
The 6-3 shooting guard tossed in a career-best 28 points to pace Bowdoin in a victory over the University of Southern Maine on Tuesday, a game where he connected on 6-of-13 attempts from 3- point range, in addition to securing six rebounds and a pair of steals.
He led Bowdoin again on Saturday with 17 points in a victory over Maine Maritime Academy.
Madlinger leads Bowdoin, and stands second in the New England Small College Athletic
Conference at 18.0 points per game.
In the Coaches Poll, Husson was first (1-2; six first-place votes), followed by Saint Joseph’s (3-2, 2), Bowdoin (3- 2), Southern Maine (4-2, 2) and UMaine Farmington (4- 1).
The Polar Bears stand at 4-2 after defeating Bates College in overtime on Thursday (74- 70) and will close out their first semester at home tonight againt Colby at 7 p.m.
