HARPSWELL — Vanessa Lee Werler age 51 of Allen Point Road died Wednesday, March 22nd at Maine Medical Center after a long illness.
She was born in Phoenix, Arizona on July 20, 1965 the daughter of Wilson Sykora and Frances Sykora Clark. She attended Harpswell Elementary Schools and was a 1983 graduate of Mt. Ararat High School.
In high school Vanessa graduated with honors and participated in basketball, softball and soccer.
For several years until becoming sick about ten years ago Vanessa worked as a lobster boat sternman.
Surviving besides her mother of Brunswick is her husband Edward G. Werler and two sons Edward and Michael Werler all of Harpswell. Two sisters Cheryl Coppens of Topsham and Michele Taylor of Mexico. Vanessa is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no services. Arrangements are by Stetson’s Funeral Home 12 Federal St. Brunswick where memorial condolences may be expressed at stetsonsfuneralhome.com.
