BATH — Sharon Pyne and Matt Loosigian, two experienced and passionate Music Together teachers in Bath and Brunswick, are getting ready to offer spring sessions of music classes for preschoolers and their caregivers.

Spring classes begin April 10, 11 and 12.

The cost is $145 for 10 weeks. Scholarships and sibling discounts are offered, and registration is taking place now.

According to a news release, Music Together was created in 1988 by the Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton, N.J., and now offers classes all over the world. The philosophy is, that all children are musical and can learn to keep an accurate beat and sing in tune.

The participation and modeling of a child’s caregiver, regardless of their musical ability, is essential to a child’s musical growth. Research proves that musical competence is best achieved during the preschool years, in a playful and musically rich environment, alongside a parent or caregiver.

A Music Together class include infants, toddlers and preschoolers, each participating at their own level. Songs have a variety of tonalities and meters, and the class is full of movement activities including instrument jams. Parents can extend their own music education and gain a repertoire of melodies and ideas, while devoting a joyful hour of sharing and fun with their child each week.
