ARROWSIC
Selectmen are seeking authorization from the town to spend money on legal fees associated with a lawsuit brought by West Bath against Regional School Unit 1 over cost sharing.
As lead plaintiff against RSU 1’s original cost-sharing formula, West Bath amended its complaint because RSU 1 would have to levy more taxes against Arrowsic, Bath and Woolwich should West Bath prevail.
The first step is a public hearing at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25 at Town Hall, to discuss the warrant. Then a special town meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, also at Town Hall, to vote on the warrant.
The date of the public hearing was incorrect in a prior edition.
The warrant will be posted outside Town Hall at the kiosk and at the Fire Station, and at www.arrowsic.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
