MT. ARARAT STUDENTS have some fun Thursday while carving pumpkins to benefit the children of Camp Sunshine. The 300 pumpkins have hearts carved out, rather than traditional faces, because they will be lit as part of the “Tower of Hearts” Halloween display at L.L. Bean in Freeport. Saturday marks the 10th annual Camp Sunshine Pumpkin Festival at L.L. Bean. The festival begins at noon and goes until 8 p.m. and will include painting, children’s activities, music, food and a “spooktacular” pumpkin display with thousands of lit jack-o’-lanterns. From left, are ninth-graders Elissa Small and Sarah Roberts, and sophomore Michael Floccher. See story on A3.
