TWO OF FIVE SOUTHERN REGIONAL FINALISTS for the Maine State Poetry Out Loud competition, which will take place Wednesday, March 11, in Waterville, come from local schools. They are Josef Biberstein, a senior at Freeport High School, and Rose Horowitz, a junior at Mt. Ararat High School. At the Southern Maine Regional Poetry Out Loud finals, four of the 24 competitiors came from Mid-coast schools. They were, from left, Biberstein, Horowitz, Balthasar von Hoyningen Huene, a senior at Morse High School, and Sylvia Holland, a freshman at Merriconeag Waldorf School. Biberstein and Horowitz will be among the 10 competing to represent Maine at the national finals in Washington, D.C., in April.
