LISBON
The Planning Board will hold a public forum tonight to get feedback on the rural Route 9 corridor.
The forum will feature a brief presentation and focus groups for discussion and residents’ input.
Residents of Route 9 and all of Lisbon are invited to participate in the forum to discuss land-use and zoning for the Route 9 Corridor within the Rural Open Space 1 District. Topics of discussion will include the character of Route 9 and recent changes along the corridor; the future of commercial use along Route 9; and how to define home occupations within town.
Town Manager Steve Eldridge said the Planning Board plans on making some zoning changes along Route 9. While the town’s comprehensive plan identifies the area as rural, the road is a corridor, and the plan directs the town to look at Route 9 for commercial development, Eldridge said.
The forum will start at 7 p.m. in the gym of the MTM Center. For more information, call the town office at 353-3000 or visit www.lisbonme.org.
