
Regan Lynch led three players in double figures as the Freeport High School girls basketball team pulled away for a 52-40 Western Maine Conference victory over Fryeburg Academy on Friday.
The Falcons improved to 9-3 and visit Cape Elizabeth on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Freeport led 13-9 after a quarter, 24-18 at the half and 38-26 through three quarters.
Lynch had 16 points to lead all scorers, while Jessie Driscoll chipped in 11 and Taylor Rinaldi 10. The Falcons were a solid 21-of-28 from the free-throw line.
Mackenzie Buzzell paced the Raiders with 13 points. Fryeburg was 14-of-25 at the charity stripe.

The Greyhounds ended a four-game Mountain Valley Conference losing streak with a Saturday win over Dirigo.
Lisbon improved to 7-7 and hosts Wiscasset on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Holding quarter leads of 9-7, 27-16 and 34-20, the Greyhounds rode the hot shooting of Giana Russo, who had 14 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Jasmin Le added nine points, with Kaylin Le chipping in seven, Kipri Steele six and Ali Sult five.
Alex Varnum paced the Cougars with 14 points.
At the free-throw line, Lisbon was 6-of-10 and Dirigo 9- of-10.

The host Bobcats jumped out to a 22-5 first-quarter lead and never looked back en route to an East-West Conference win on Saturday.
Richmond, 12-0 and slated to visit Hyde today at 5:30 p.m., led 39-10 at the half and 51-12 through three.
Sydney Underhill-Tilton led the way with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Ashley Abbott added 11 points, Lindsie Irish nine and Meranda Martin seven.

The Bobcats earned a non-conference win at Old Orchard Beach on Thursday.
Richmond was paced by 23 points and 18 rebounds from Underhill-Tilton, with Mackenzie Abbott adding eight points and Martin leading with five steals and five assists.

The visiting Hornets rallied in the second half for a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over the Eagles at Topsham on Friday.
Mt. Ararat led 7-3, 17-11 and 25-23 at the quarter breaks, but Leavitt (5-7) outscored the Eagles, 18-10, in the fourth quarter to rally.
Nikki Bradstreet nailed six 3-pointers for a game-high 20 points for Mt. Ararat (2-10), which visits Camden Hills this upcoming Friday at 7 p.m. Kyla Greenleaf and Caitlyn Smith split eight points down the middle. Katelyn Cox pulled down eight rebounds, Sabrina Paetow seven and Greenleaf six.
Allie Belaire and Rebecca Fogg had 13 and 12 points, respectively, for Leavitt.

The visiting Bulldogs earned their first MVC win of the season at Wiscasset on Saturday.
Hall-Dale (1-14) jumped to a 10-0 first-quarter lead, but the Wolverines (1-12) rallied with 14 points in the second to close to 17-14 at the half. The Bulldogs led 23-19 after three.
Sabrina Freeman had 14 points and seven rebounds in the win, while Cat Kinkaid chipped in nine points and Kayla Searles eight points and seven assists.
Hayhlee Craig picked up a game-high 18 points in defeat, while Maeve Blodgett added seven points.
Wiscasset visits Lisbon on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Boys
AUBURN — For the second time this season, Brunswick held a first-half lead against undefeated Edward Little.
And for the second time, the Red Eddies rallied in the second half, this time for a 63-49 KVAC win on Friday.
Brunswick, 6-7 and slated to host Cony on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., led 32-29 at the half. But EL (13-0) claimed a 45-43 advantage through three quarters and pulled away down the stretch.
Corban Teel had a big game for the Dragons, tallying 16 points in the loss. Josh Dorr chipped in 11 points and Nate Benoit hit two 3-pointers and finished with eight points.
Samatar Iman led the way for the Red Eddies with 25 points, including four from beyond the arc. Darby Shea hit five 3-pointers for 15 points, with Jarod Norcross- Plourde picking up 18 points.

Cody Gullikson hit a big shot late in regulation as the host Raiders held on for a WMC win over Freeport on Friday.
Trailing 32-23 after three quarters, the Falcons (3-8) kept coming in the fourth quarter, out-scoring Fryeburg Academy, 16-10.
Toby Holt had 13 points in the loss, with Connor Dostie adding 11.

The Bobcats turned to the press in the fourth quarter to rally for an E-WC win over Buckfield on Saturday.
After rolling over the Bucks (4-8) by 22 points earlier this season, Richmond (12-0) had difficulty putting the visitors away. Buckfield led 18-16 after a quarter, trailed 33-31 at the half and 48-46 through three.
In the fourth, Buckfield claimed a two-point lead, but Richmond turned up the defensive pressure, leading to several steals.
Zach Small had a big game for the Bobcats, scoring
36 points, including a 10- for-10 performance at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter. Cody Tribbet added 15 points, while Matt Rines had seven points and six assists.
Ethan Jackson led three players in double figures for Buckfield with 18 points. Jake Kraske added 13 points and Jake Hackett had 12.
Richmond visits North Yarmouth Academy on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

A big fourth-quarter rally came up short as the Hornets held off the Eagles in Turner on Friday.
Mt. Ararat (2-10) trailed 47-32 through three quarters, but put up 25 points in the fourth in this KVAC tilt.
Jack Sylvester led the way in the win with a game-high 17 points. Nick Angello swished four 3-pointers for 12 points, while Cole Morin had a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.
Jared Balser led Mt. Ararat with 15 points, followed by Max Spelke with 10, including three 3-pointers.
The Eagles host Camden Hills this upcoming Friday at 7 p.m.

Alec Byron made all 11 of his free-throw attempts as the host Bulldogs (10-3) held off the Wolverines (9-5) at Farmingdale on Saturday.
Wiscasset forged a 29-29 deadlock at the half, but fell behind 45-40 after three.
Byron had a game-high 20 points, while Tyler Nadeau picked up 18 and Jett Boyer 11, including three 3-pointers.
Ethan James scored all 16 of his points in the second half and had eight rebounds to lead Wiscasset, with Logan Orr nailing three from beyond the arc for 13 points. Cody Roberts added 12 points. Kevin Lynch had nine boards and Russell Marr dished out four assists.

Cooper Chiasson drained a team-leading 17 points as Dirigo came from behind to bolt down an MVC victory over Lisbon on Saturday.
With six minutes remaining in the game and down by 12 points, the Cougars (4-9) rallied. Alex Gorham hit a 3- point basket with one minute left, and Luke Lueders collected a pair of free throws with eight seconds remaining.
The Greyhounds (6-7) attempted to tie the game with a field goal, but the ball circled the rim and fell out at the buzzer.
Lisbon’s Sean Scott gathered up six 3-pointers to lead all scorers with 18 points.
The Greyhounds visit Wiscasset on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Girls hockey
FALMOUTH — Briget Roberts scored a hat trick to lead Greely to a 7-4 win over Yarmouth/Freeport/Gray- New Gloucester on Saturday at Falmouth Family Ice Center.
Greely used a three-goal second period to take a 4-2 lead, and held off the Clippers (5-10) in the third frame.
Caroline Grant popped in two goals for the Clippers, who visit Mt. Ararat/Morse this upcoming Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Katie Clemmer and Madi Dickinson added a goal apiece, and netminder Isabelle King had 14 saves.
