BRUNSWICK — The Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference South Division girls high school basketball statistics were recently released, with Mt. Ararat and Brunswick athletes in the top 10 in several categories.

The Eagles, 10-0 and the top team in the Eastern Maine Class A Heal Points Standings, is second in the conference in points per game (54.7) and points allowed (39.9).

Mallory Nelson is second to Edward Little’s Ashlee Arnold in scoring with a 17 points per game average, with teammate Caitlin LaFountain fifth (14.6 points per game).

LaFountain is third in rebounds (8.2 rpg), fifth in free-throw percentage (74 percent), seventh in 3-pointers made (16) and ninth in assists (2.2 apg), while Nelson is fourth in rebounds (6.6 rpg), fourth in free throws (75 percent) and seventh in assists (2.6 apg).

Also for Mt. Ararat, Kristi Willey is ninth in free throws (67 percent), fifth in 3-pointers (17) and tied with Nelson and teammate Katie Labbay in assists (2.6 apg).

Brunswick, coming off a 58- 50 loss to Skowhegan on Monday to fall to 2-9, is well-represented in the KVAC top 10.

Lyse Henshaw has moved up to second in 3-pointers made with 23, and her 11.4- points per game places the guard seventh in scoring. Henshaw is eighth in freethrow percentage (68 percent).

Also for the Dragons, Julia Champagne is ninth in scoring (10.3 ppg), 10th in rebounds (5.1 rpg) and third in assists (4.8 apg), while Anna Dimick is fifth in rebounds at a 6.6 clip.

Brunswick is both sixth in team scoring (39.4 points a game) and team defense (53.5).

Mt. Ararat is slated to visit Edward Little on Friday in a key KVAC contest, while Brunswick visits Cony Friday night.
