BATH — Habitat for Humanity / 7 Rivers Maine — with support from the Davenport Trust, Maine Community Foundation, United Way of Mid Coast Maine and local churches — is offering any family with a qualifying limited income the opportunity to immediately reduce their fuel costs by tightening their homes against the cold.

“In the next two months, we will have a team specifically assigned to evaluate homes for energy efficiency and to begin work on air sealing homes which need tightening,” weatherization coordinator Josh Reynolds said.

Families who own their homes and meet income guidelines can receive the service free of charge.

For families who need more extensive repairs and weatherization following those repairs, Habitat offers nointerest loans on materials. For more information, call 386-5081; the service is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
