SACO — Sarah Martens and Alyssa Holst scored 1:21 apart in the first period to lead Scarborough to a 2-0 girls high school hockey victory over Brunswick on Saturday at MHG Ice Center.
Claire Mendes made 36 saves for the Dragons, who dropped to 4-8 and host Leavitt/ Edward Little tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Sidney J. Watson Arena.
“I am proud that we gave it a great effort against a good Scarborough team,” said Brunswick coach Bill Bodwell. “The defense made some good decisions and was solid.”
Scarborough (10-1-1), which scored its two goals in the first 4:22 of the contest, netminder Devan Kane had 15 stops in the shutout.
Rachel Wallace, Madison O’Riley and Brenna Kent dished out one assist each.
