BRUNSWICK — Konnor Scarponi scored two goals and the Brunswick High School boys soccer team improved to 6-2-1 Tuesday with a 3-0 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference boys soccer win over visiting Messalonskee.
Ryan Black chipped in with a goal and Jesse Arford added two assists for the Dragons, who are scheduled to visit Hampden Academy on Friday.
Goaltender Greg Walton had five saves for Brunswick and Jonah Webb stopped eight shots for Messalonskee.
“It was a tight game, 2-0 at the half,” said Brunswick coach Mark Roma. “Konnor’s second goal came late in the first half on a penalty kick. Jesse Arford had his best game of the year and really set the tone in the midfield.”

P.C. Ostergaard scored the game’s only goal as the host Shipbuilders picked up their second consecutive KVAC Class B victory at McMann Field.
Michael Alverez earned an assist, while Duane Tardif turned aside 10 Belfast (6-2-1) shots for the shutout.
The Lions finished with a 13-7 shots advantage and 6-3 edge in corner kicks. Belfast netminder Tremmil Groene had five saves.

Eddie Stewart paced the Richmond High School boys soccer team with three goals as the Bobcats rolled to a victory over A.R. Gould on Monday at South Portland.
Xavier Trask, Randy Moody and Cameron Emmons each tallied a goal, while netminder Dustin Sullivan had 11 saves.
Dante Dennis scored on a penalty kick for A.R. Gould (1-5), while keeper Chris Hogan turned aside 15 shots.
