BANGOR — University of Maine Museum of Art is currently accepting artist submissions for the second installment of the I-95 Triennial 2013: From Connecticut to Maine exhibition.

According to a news release, the I-95 Triennial occurs every three years and features a survey of the finest contemporary artists working in the five New England states where Interstate 95 passes — Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.

“This stretch along Interstate 95 runs through major hubs of artistic production and, as in our inaugural exhibition in 2010, the exhibition will provide a glimpse into the diversity of contemporary creative practice in the region,” a spokesperson for the exhibit said in the news release.

The exhibition is open to professional artists working in varied media including painting, photography, sculpture, video, drawings and prints, and will be juried through artist submissions.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, Oct. 12. A minimum of one Director’s Purchase prize will be awarded.
