For the sake of being fair, I wish to commend Benet Pols for his town council leadership. Chair Pols kept things going smoothyly, and the boys and girls in line. Since the days of Reggie Pinkham, Benet Pols was tops.
About 4-5 years afo, when the 55+ Center was up for renovation for contractor bids, Benet wanted any contractor from any town (to get a lower bid I presume) to place bids. I fell through the floor at that time, for I am for Brunswick small business to get our work done. My motto: Kepp it local, and I mean Brunswick only local.
We disagreed, but that is past. I still commend Benet for his work, but mostly leadership.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
