BRUNSWICK — Merrymeeting Adult Education is offering a Certified Nursing Assistant course starting Jan. 5, 2015, at Region 10 Technical High School in Brunswick.
This is a 180-hour course developed by the Maine State Board of Nursing to prepare students for a career in health care as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Classes take place from 4-9 p.m. two nights per week; after completion of classroom instruction, students will engage in the clinical portion. Clinical hours will be 4-10 p.m., as well as two Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The CNA State Competency Test is administered upon completion of the course. Students must complete the 180-hour state requirement.
The fee for the course is $950 for residents of Topsham, Brunswick, Bowdoin, Bowdoinham and Harpswell, and is $975 for non-residents. Books, materials and State C.N.A. test are included in the cost.
