BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Parks and Recreation Department held its annual “Hoops Shoot” competition on Tuesday, with 20 boys and girls ages 8-13 competing by shooting 25 free throws each.
Awards were presented to the top scorers in each age category, with the winners moving on to the Regional competition on Old Orchard Beach High School Jan. 11.
In the boys 8-9 division, Noah Johnson took first, while ages 10-11 boys went to Evan Kilfoil, with Parker Bate the runner-up. Rounding out the boys was the 12- 13 age group, won by Isaiah Johnson, with Matthew Green in second.
In the girls divisions, winners were Gabrielle Sasse (8- 9), Roxanne Sasse (10-11) and Alexa Eaton (12-13), with the second places going to Abby DeSantis (8-9), Morgan Foster (10-11) and Victoria Sasse (12-13).
The Brunswick Elks Club sponsored and ran the event.
