Madeline Suhr and Sabrina Armstrong each scored 18 points to power the Brunswick High School girls basketball team to a 64-41 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Leavitt on Thursday.

The 4-1 Dragons led 19-10, 34-24 and 51-33 at the quarter breaks.

Alexis Guptill added nine points, with Charlotte MacMillan and Aiden Sachs each scoring eight points.

Elizabeth Goulette led Leavitt (3-3) with 18 points, while Allie Belaire tossed in 11.

Brunswick hosts Medomak Valley on Tuesday at 1 p.m.

The visiting Greyhounds ended a two-game slide by downing 1-3 Dirigo in Mountain Valley Conference action in Dixfield.

Lisbon is 3-2 and hosts Monmouth on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

The Greyhounds jumped out to a 16-5 lead, led 22-13 at the half and 31-16 through three quarters.

Kaylin Le powered her way to 14 points in the win, while Kipri Steele chipped in 11.

Sophia Jacques led Dirigo with 14 points.

The hosts Yachtsmen jumped out to a 14-5 first-quarter lead and held on for there for a KVAC win over Mt. Ararat, which fell to 0-5 and visits Morse on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Adelaide Cooke paced Falmouth with 17 points.

Nikki Bradstreet nailed three 3-pointers and shared the team scoring lead with Kyla Greenleaf with 13 points apiece. Sabrina Paetow and Kate Guerin each had five rebounds in the loss.

At the free-throw line, the Eagles were 15-of-25 and the Yachtsmen 12-of-15.

The hot Falcons made it four wins in a row with a Western Maine Conference victory over Traip Academy.

Freeport is 4-1 and returns to action Jan. 3 at Gray-New Gloucester.

Taylor Rinaldi led a balanced Freeport attack with 13 points, with Jessie Driscoll, Regan Lynch and Johanna Bogue-Marlowe each picking up eight points.

Cassidy Delairo paced the Rangers with 11 points.

The visiting Rangers scored 45 points in the opening half en route to a Class A South win over Morse, which fell to 1-4 and hosts Mt. Ararat on Tuesday.

Anna DeWolfe had a game-high 21 points in the win, with Isabel Porter adding 16 points and Brooke Ober 12.

Marissa Parks picked up 16 points for the Shipbuilders, with Noa Sreden adding 14.

The visiting Wolverines won their first game in MVC action in Farmingdale.

Wiscasset (1-4) received 22 points from Hayhlee Craig.

The Wolverines visit Mountain Valley tonight at 7 p.m.

Sabrina Freeman paced Hall- Dale ( 0- 5) with 12 points.

Boys hoops

RICHMOND — Zach Small sprinted out to 26 points as Richmond improved to 6-0 with a non-conference win over North Yarmouth Academy on Thursday.

The Bobcats return to action at Forest Hills on Jan. 6, while the Panthers fell to 1-4.

Richmond led 17-11, 29-15 and 43-27 at the quarter breaks.

Cody Tribbet chipped in 14 points and seven boards in the win, while Matt Rines dished out seven assists and Matt Holt pulled down seven caroms.

Jake Malcolm paced NYA with 11 points, followed by Haven Cutko with 10.

In an MVC showdown at Wiscasset, the Bulldogs (6-0) came away with a big win as the Wolverines fell to 3-2 and play host to Mountain Valley tonight at 7 p.m.

Josh Cyr paced the win with 13 points, and Hall-Dale was a solid 11-of-15 at the free-throw line.

Meanwhile, Wiscasset was just 6-of-17 at the line.

Ethan James had a game-high 16 points in the loss, with Cody Roberts adding 11.

The visiting Dragons jumped out early and never looked back for a KVAC win at Turner.

Brunswick (3-2) ended a two-game slump and visits Medomak Valley on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The Dragons posted quarter leads of 13-4, 25-14 and 43- 20.

Josh Dorr popped for 16 points in the win, with Nate Benoit adding 12, including a pair of 3-pointers.

De’Andre James led Leavitt with six points.

Undefeated Greely poured it on in a Class A South win at Cumberland.

The Rangers (6-0) led 22- 14, 39-23 and 66-33 at the quarter breaks, with Ryan Twitchell scoring a game-high 25 points. Matt McDevitt and Jordan Bagshaw added 14 points apiece.

Dakota Freeman drained a pair of treys and finished with a team-high 16 points for the Shipbuilders, who host Mt. Ararat on Tuesday. Parker Onorato added 12 points in the loss that dropped Morse to 1-4.

Boys hockey

Brunswick broke into the win column with an 8-5 Class B win over Winslow on Thursday at Sidney J. Watson Arena.

The Dragons improved to 1- 3-1 and host Maranacook/Winthrop on Jan. 7. The Black Raiders fell to 0-2.

After Tommy Tibbetts gave Winslow a 1-0 lead, Jack St. Pierre, from Michael Marro and Jacob Doring, and Alex Labbe, from Michael Deveaux, gave the Dragons a 2-1 lead after a period.

Winslow out-scored Brunswick 3-2 in the second frame for a 4-4 tie. Deveaux and Doring scored for the Dragons, while Tibbetts netted his second, and Tyler Martin and Kyle Gurney tallied 1:14 apart for Winslow.

Logan Denis gave Winslow a 5-4 lead at 3:02 of the third period, but Brunswick answered right back as Deveaux’s second 1:10 later tied the contest again.

From there, the Dragons rallied, getting a goal each from Jared Hummer, Quinn Solberg and Doring (empty net) for the win.

Deveaux finished with two goals and two helpers, while Doring had a goal and an assist and Hummer one goal and two assists for the Dragons. Riley Kirk had 17 saves in net.

Tibbetts paced Winslow with two goals and an assist, while netminder Ben Grenier had 21 stops.

Girls hockey

Bridget Roberts answered a Jenna Brooks goal with a score as Greely defeated Brunswick, 3-1, at Watson Arena.

The Rangers (6-1) jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the second period, but Brooks’ power-play marker brought the Dragons (3-4) to 2-1. Rayna Sage and Beth Labbe assisted.

Veronica Todd had 21 saves for Greely, while Nadia Leiner had 10 stops for Brunswick, which visits Lewiston/Monmouth/ Oak Hill on Dec. 30.
