TOPSHAM — Caroline Gephert and Lainie Lemieux have made the 2017 USA Hockey New England District teams.
Gephert, who plays hockey at North Yarmouth Academy, will head to St. Cloud, Minn., in July for the 15- year-old Development Camp.
Lemieux is eligible to attend the Eastern Select 14- year-old camp that will be held in Boston in June.
The overall objective of USA Hockey’s Player Development Program is to select and train the most competitive women’s ice hockey teams representing the U.S. at the Olympic, National, National Junior and Select levels of international competition.
This long process begins at the state level. The New England evaluators were coaches from Division I and Division III New England colleges, prep schools and USA Hockey National Development team members.
