MACHIAS (AP) — A jury has delivered eight verdicts but continues to deliberate murder counts in the trial of a man charged with killing a couple in northern Maine.

The judge asked jurors to return Thursday to deliberate two murder counts after convicting Matthew Davis of four counts of arson, three counts of theft and one count of aggravated criminal mischief.

Prosecutors say Davis shot 49-year-old Heidi Pratt and then 51-year-old Michael Kitchen before setting the home afire in the northern town of Oakfield.

The trial was moved to Washington County Superior Court in Machias after a judge was unable to seat a jury in Aroostook County.
