Jessa Smith tallied a hat trick as the York/Traip Academy girls high school hockey team skated past Mt. Ararat/Morse, 7-0, on Thursday.
The Eagles dropped to 0-3 despite 36 saves from Lily Schenk.
York/Traip (2-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead through a period as Smith, Emma Ford and Grace Campbell each scored a goal. Smith added the lone goal in the second period, and completed her hat trick with 4:22 remaining in the third period.
Sophie Blanchard had a pair of assists in the win.
Mt. Ararat/Morse visits Gorham/Bonny Eagle/Windham at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
