Cony/ Hall- Dale/ Monmouth scored three goals over the final 1:27 of the second period for a 5-2 boys high school hockey victory over Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/ Morse on Wednesday at Sidney J. Watson Arena.
The Eagles are 2-7 heading into Saturday’s home contest with Windham/Westbrook (7:45 p.m.), while the Rams improved to 5-3.
Tied 2-2, Reid Hopkins but the visitors ahead with a power-play goal. Just 40 seconds later, Cole Lockhart made it a 4-2 game, and Zach Whitney tallied moments later for a 5-2 edge.
Noah Austin scored the game’s first goal for the hosts, and Sam Alexander tied the contest in the second period for Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse.
Cade Charron had 39 saves in the cage for the Eagles, while Dalton Bowie made 14 stops for Cony/Hall- Dale/Monmouth.
Boys basketball
WISCASSET — Sam Storer popped for 22 points as Mt. Abram ran off with a 53- 37 Mountain Valley Conference win over Wiscasset.
The Wolverines (0-10) visit Monmouth on Friday.
The Roadrunners used a 22-8 scoring edge in the second quarter for a 29-14 halftime lead.
Casey Holt chipped in 13 points in the win.
Zach Reed and Ronald Drake had 14 and 13 points, respectively for Wiscasset.
At the free-throw line, the Wolverines were 9-of-20 and the Roadrunners 6-of-13.
