We know Governor LePage’s opposition to abortion. He certainly speaks his mind. He now deems abortion as critical to Maine sustaining its population since so many elderly are dying!
He followed that up with headlines accusing Planned Parenthood of being “baby killers.”
In Catholic hospitals the Vatican sets the standards for the hospital’s treatment of pregnant women. A mother must give her life for the unborn. There is no choice. Would he call Catholic hospitals “mother killers”?
When I was a teenager, my friend from church was babysitting when an intruder broke in, viciously attacked her, raped her and left her for dead. She survived only because she played dead. Should she be forced to have the baby of a rapist because of another religion’s teachings?
Abortion is not always wrong. Sometimes religious dogmas are.
Are we going to put the onus of maintaining Maine’s population numbers on pregnant women by refusing them their rights to a legal abortion?
