SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s $11,025 fine from the NFL for what a game official called “inappropriate language” during the 49ers’ loss to the Chicago Bears last month was cut in half Wednesday.

Kaepernick noted that he doesn’t want to say anything more and draw further attention from the league.

Kaepernick has denied any wrongdoing when he and Chicago defensive end Lamarr Houston went at it after a fourth-quarter interception.

Lions

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — Detroit running back Reggie Bush was able to practice Wednesday after missing the Lions’ victory over Minnesota last weekend because of an ankle injury.

The team listed Bush as limited Wednesday. The Lions face one of Bush’s former teams Sunday when they host the New Orleans Saints.

Calvin Johnson did not practice — he also missed last weekend’s game with an ankle problem.

Cardinals

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Three days after his triumphant return against the Washington Redskins, Carson Palmer is looking forward to practice.

Palmer only had a portion of a practice last Friday before throwing two touchdown passes in the Cardinals’ 30-20 win over Washington. He hadn’t played since injuring a nerve in his throwing shoulder in the season opener.

Palmer said the arm feels fine but he needs to strengthen it in preparation for next Sunday’s game at Oakland.
