BRUNSWICK — Julia Champagne assisted on both goals as the hot Brunswick High School girls soccer team won for the sixth consecutive time, downing Mt. Blue, 2-0, in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference play on Friday.
The 8-3-1 Dragons visit Lawrence this upcoming Friday (6 p.m.) before concluding the regular season at Mt. Ararat on Oct. 21.
Maeve Arthur and Kira Wolpow had one goal each, and goaltender Madeline Brescia turned aside seven shots for the shutout.
“Another excellent passing game against a solid defensive team,” said Brunswick coach Martyn Davison. “I thought we controlled the game and some of our combination play was superb at times. Our movement and passing was excellent, and from a defensive perspective I was very pleased with the shutout as they were dangerous on the break.
“Our seniors played really well on Senior Day, and I was very pleased with the games by Julia Champagne, Kassidy Scarponi, Alicia Davis and Julia Rider.
Mt. Blue netminder Addie Schanz had eight saves.

Torri Pelletier struck for two goals as the host Eagles picked up their fifth consecutive KVAC win at Topsham on Friday.
Christine Levesque added a goal for Mt. Ararat, 8-3-1 and slated to visit Hampden Academy this upcoming Friday at 6 p.m. Lauren Williams manned the net, turning aside four shots.
Rose McLaughlin had 16 saves in the Brewer cage.

The suddenly potent Shipbuilders kept the offense rolling in KVAC Class B play on Friday at Thorndike.
After scoring eight times in an 8-1 win over Belfast on Tuesday, Morse (7-2-2) continued to roll as Miracle Trimble picked up four goals and Brianna Williams two.
Trailing 1-0, Williams tied the game off a Sophie Sreden corner kick. Noa Sreden rolled a pass to Trimble for the go-ahead goal in the 17th minute for a 2-1 halftime lead, and a five-goal second half allowed Morse to pull away.
Abby Minott added a goal, while Sophie Sreden had three assists and Williams two. Lauren Pelletier also dished out a helper.
After the early goal, the Morse defense of Leia Graves, Emma Gould, Emma Rossetti, Baylie Cram and Sierra Wallace kept the Mt. View offense away from keeper Alesha Aucoin, who had eight saves.
The Shipbuilders are slated to host Camden Hills on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Kelsea Anair tallied three goals and Cassidy Harriman added two as the visiting Bobcats rolled to an East- West Conference win on Friday.
Richmond (11-0) also received a goal each from Meranda Martin, Camryn Hurley and Destiny Anair, while Amber Loon dished out three assists. Autumn Acord, Hurley and Martin also earned an assist each, while goaltender Kelsie Obi had two saves.

At Bethel on Friday, the Wolverines ended an eightgame winless streak with a Mountain Valley Conference win over Telstar (0-12).
Brooke Carleton and Miranda McIntire had two goals each in the win. Grace Webber and Lindsey Gordon also tallied for Wiscasset (4- 7-1), which hosts Winthrop today at 4 p.m.

Deliah Schrieber scored the tying goal to lift the Greyhounds into a Mountain Valley
Conference draw with Madison, handing the Bulldogs their first non-win of the season (11-0-1).
The tie put the Greyhounds, who currently sit in fifth in the Heal Point Standings, at 7-2-3.
The Bulldogs struck first with 17:55 left to play when Tayla Bess accepted a pass from Whitney Bess and put it past Greyhounds goalie Ali Sult for a 1-0 advantage.
Midway through the second half with 25:20 left on the clock, Schrieber tied the game with a shot of her own.
The Greyhounds host Mountain Valley today at 3:30 p.m.
RICHMOND 5

Anair and Loon tallied two goals and two assists each as the visiting Bobcats earned a non-conference win over Pine Tree Academy at Freeport in Thursday.
Anair had two first-half goals, with Loon scoring once as Richmond carried a 3-0 lead to the half. Martin scored an unassisted goal early in the second half before Anair set up Loon for the game’s final goal.
Obi had one save in goal for the shutout, while Breakers goaltender Katheryne Cruzich turned aside nine Richmond shots.
