CUMBERLAND — Kayla Berry scored eight minutes into the game for Greely, and Freeport failed to score despite 18 penalty corners in a 2-0 Western Maine Conference loss to the Rangers on Thursday.
Berry staked Greely to the 1-0 halftime lead, and Madlen Guild tallied with 17 minutes left to give the Rangers some breathing room.
Morgan Karnes had 10 saves in goal for the Falcons, who host Yarmouth on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

Brooke Lever tallied a pair of goals to lead the Red Eddies to a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win on Thursday.
Kirsten Lupher, Jasmine Wyman and Marisa Carter added one goal each for EL, with Madison DeRosa chipping in two assists.
Brunswick received 25 saves from netminder Jordan Van Savage.
The Dragons are 1-12 and conclude the regular season at home on Tuesday against rival Mt. Ararat at 3:30 p.m.

Haley Frizzle turned aside 31 shots, but the Eagles dropped a tough KVAC contest to Mt. Blue on Thursday.
“It was a great defensive game by Mt. Ararat,” said Eagles coach Krista Chase, whose squad is 2-11 and concludes the regular season on Tuesday at Brunswick (3:30 p.m.).
