DRESDEN — House District 53 Rep. Jeff Pierce, R-Dresden, was endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Businesses. In a statement released recently, NFIB Maine State Director David Clough “praised Pierce for his support of small businesses in his community and all across Maine,” according to the House Republican Campaign
Committee.
“Nearly all candidates talk about their support of small business but what matters most is action, not just talk, and your (Pierce) voting record clearly shows that you both speak out and stand up for small business,” Clough said.
Pierce is running for reelection against Democrat challenger Will Neilson.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
