WISCASSET

Four players scored one goal each as the Wiscasset High School boys soccer team downed Oak Hill, 4-1, on Thursday in Mountain Valley Conference action.

Max Sampson, Russell Marr, Brandon Goud and Grant Hefler tallied for the 5- 4 Wolverines, who travel to Winthrop on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

“This was a big bounce back win for us,” said Wiscasset coach Chris Cossette, whose squad defeated previously unbeaten Monmouth last Saturday before stumbling at Mt. Abram, 2-0, on Tuesday. “Against Mt. Abram, we came out flat. We are just trying to keep moving forward throughout the rest of the season.”

Wiscasset goaltender Conlon Ranta had four saves.

FALMOUTH 3

The Yachtsmen jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a pair of Nate Arrants goals en route to a Western Maine Conference win at Falmouth.

Joe Burke had 13 saves for Freeport, which fell to 5-4 and hosts Waynflete on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

John Mullen set up Arrants’ opening goal 8:04 into the game, and Arrants scored off a Jonah Spiegel feed late in the opening frame for a 2-0 Falmouth (7- 1-1) lead.

Michael Sanzari finished the scoring in the second half.

Girls soccer

WALES — Rylea Mae- Swan and Halee Lair each scored as Oak Hill ran off with a 2-0 MVC win over visiting Wiscasset.

Lindsey Weeks picked up an assist for the 7-2-1 Raiders, who dropped the Wolverines to 3-6-1 despite four saves from Lindsey Gordon.

Anna Dodge had two saves for Oak Hill.

Wiscasset returns to action this upcoming Thursday at home against Boothbay (6 p.m.).
