FREEPORT — Freeport Community Services, L.L. Bean and FreeportUSA will host the 23rd annual Chowdah Challenge at the Freeport Fall Festival.
Ten restaurants will showcase their best chowder to over 18,000 people in one day at the Chowdah Challenge and Fall Festival.
The Freeport Fall Festival attracts thousands of people to Freeport for art, music and fun, with over 100 artists exhibiting their work, and live musical performances throughout the day.
To date the following restaurants will be participating: Freeport Chowder House, Harraseeket Inn, Linda Bean’s, Gritty’s, Kamasouptra, Coast Bar + Bistro, Bistro 233, Tuscan Grill.
A Judge’s Choice and a People’s Choice winner will be chosen. The event takes place on the porch of the L.L. Bean Home Store. Cost is $10 per person. All proceeds benefit Freeport Community Services.
