BATH — Brianna Williams potted two goals as the Morse High School girls soccer team rolled to a 4-0 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B win over Belfast on Friday.
The win gives the Shipbuilders a 3-2 mark, with a visit to Camden Hills set for Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
The Morse midfield took control early, making it difficult for Belfast to mount any sort of attack. Despite the significant territorial advantage, Morse had to wait until six minutes remained in the half to break through. Amanda Gagne pushed a nice through ball to Miracle Trimble, who fired a shot under the diving Belfast keeper.
Strong defensive efforts were turned in by Morse defenders Leia Graves, Hope Faulkinham, Courtney Estabrook, Emma Rossetti, Emma Gould and Noa Sreden. The Shipbuilders finished with a 27-6 shots advantage, and tacked on three more goals.
Sophie Sreden hit from long range off a Williams back pass for a 2-0 lead. Williams finished off a rebound of a Lauren Pelletier shot, and Williams close out the scoring off a nice pass from Gagne, who had two assists.
Morse goaltender Alesha Aucoin had six saves for her third shutout.

“A great game by both teams, and I thought we dominated the second half and had the better of the overtime, but just couldn’t find the second goal,” said Brunswick coach Martyn Davison, whose Dragons visit Edward Little on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. “I thought Julia Champagne, Kassidy Scarponi, Maeve Arthur and Kira Wolpow were outstanding in attack, and on defense Madeline Brescia, Sarah Ferdinand, Aidan Sach and Sabina Smith were superb.”
