WEST BATH — After setting the tax commitment last week, West Bath officials announced that the 2016-17 tax rate has dropped from $10.40 to $10.20 per $1,000 of assessed value.
Town Administrator Adam Garland said the town has had small gains in valuation.
The tax rate decrease is largely due to the most recent budget process. For example, the majority of the Hill Road construction project was paid for with carry forward funds.
For a home valued at $200,000, the tax bill will be $2,040 — a decrease of $40.
