ROCKLAND — Miracle Trimble scored a pair of goals as the Morse High School girls soccer team defeated Oceanside, 3-0, in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B contest on Friday.
Oceanside controlled the play in the early stages of the first half. But, the 2-1 Shipbuilders found their game after a long range direct kick from Sophie Sreden rang off the crossbar.
At the 12-minute mark, Noa Sreden centered a pass to Trimble, who headed the ball over the Oceanside goaltender for a 1-0 lead.
Two minutes later, Morse doubled the lead as Brianna Williams converted a pass from Lauren Pelletier, giving the Shipbuilders a 2-0 lead the half.
Morse had the advantage in possession for most of the second half as the midfield of Amanda Gagne, Micalia Barone, Pelletier and Noa and Sophie Sredens maintained control.
The Shipbuilders finished the scoring with five minutes left on Trimble’s second goal, with Sophie Sreden assisting.
Morse defenseman Emma Rossetti preserved the shutout, heading away a Mariners (1-2) chance. Shipbuilder netminder Alesha Aucoin had 11 saves.
Morse visits Erskine Academy today at 3:30 p.m.

The Greyhounds celebrated Homecoming with a Mountain Valley Conference win over the Seahawks (0-3) on Saturday at Lisbon Falls.
Deliah Schrieber opened scoring at the 11- minute mark with an unassisted goal, then set up Taylor Feehan five minutes later as Lisbon claimed a 2- 0 halftime lead.
In the second half, Drew Stewart-Staples completed the scoring with 24: 41 remaining.
Ali Sult had one save in the win, and Lisbon (3-0) held a 6-0 edge in corner kicks.
Jamie Wheeler turned aside eight shots in the Boothbay net.
The Greyhounds return to on Tuesday at Dirigo at 4 p.m.

MT. ARARAT 0
Eryn Doiron scored the only game 7:52 into the game as the visiting Cougars (2-0) held off the Eagles at Topsham on Saturday.
Mt. Blue goaltender Addie Schanz made 19 stops for the visitors on 25 Mt. Ararat shots.
Mt. Ararat, which will look to end a two-game KVAC slide at Edward Little on Tuesday, received a combined three saves from netminders Kate Guerin and Lauren Williams. The Eagles held a 7-0 edge in corner kicks.
RICHMOND 4
GREENVILLE 0
The Bobcats made it two wins in two days, downing East-West Conference rival Greenville on Saturday.
Meranda Martin tallied three goals in the Richmond (3-0) win, while Kelsea Anair chipped in a goal and two assists. Camryn Hurley also picked up an assist, while goaltender Kelsie Obi turned aside seven shots.
In the midfield, Richmond, which visits Rangeley on Tuesday (3 p.m.), was led by Autumn Acord, Hurley and Molly Meagher.
Lindsay Foley had 12 saves in goal for Greenville, which fell to 0-1-1.
BREWER 4
BRUNSWICK 3
Gretchen Wright tallied three goals as the Witches claimed a KVAC win at Brunswick on Saturday.
Courtney Pearson added a goal, assisted by Hannah Laskey for Brewer.
Maeve Arthur tallied a pair of goals for Brunswick, 1-2 and slated to visit Messalonskee on Tuesday (3:30 p.m.).
Kira Wolpow chipped in a goal for the hosts, with Kassidy Scarponi and Wolpow picking up one assist each.
In goal, Madeline Brescia had two saves for Brunswick, while Mikayla Henderson turned aside one for Brewer.
“An amazing game and one for the spectator as defending on both teams was well below standard from a coaches perspective today,” said Brunswick coach Martyn Davison.
