JONESPORT (AP) — Two men and a boy have been rescued from a burning fishing boat about 15 miles off the coast of Jonesport.
The Coast Guard says the three were entering a life raft when they were rescued by boat on Thursday.
Authorities say a 911 call came in at around 11 a.m. from the 42-foot commercial fishing boat from Eastern Harbor.
The Coast Guard launched two boats and crews to the scene. A Coast Guard helicopter was diverted from Rockland, and a jet also was launched from Cape Cod, Mass.
The Coast Guard says the boat crews had to navigate through extremely limited visibility to find the fishermen.
