BRUNSWICK

Brunswick police arrested a man who allegedly assaulted a woman Sunday and threatened her with a knife.

Brunswick Police Cmdr. Mark Waltz said a woman came into the police station at approximately 8:45 p.m. Sunday and complained that her daughter was being abused by Joshua Knight, 33, of Casco Road in Brunswick.

The alleged incident took place earlier in the day on Casco Road. Waltz said officers investigated the case and learned that Knight had allegedly assaulted the woman’s daughter and threatened her with a knife.

“While defending herself from the assault, she was cut by the knife,” he said. “A friend took her to the hospital for treatment.”

Knight was arrested and charged with domestic violence aggravated assault (Class B), domestic violence criminal threatening (Class D) and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person (Class C) for having a sawed off shotgun in his possession.
