BREWER (AP) — More than 2,500 customers are without power in Penobscot County, Maine.

Utility Emera Maine says 2,597 customers lost power in Brewer, Bradley, Hampden, Holden, Clifton and Amherst just after 7 a.m. Tuesday. The utility says crews have isolated the problem and will make repairs swiftly.

The utility says power should be returned to the area later in the day. Emera Maine asks customers to stay away from downed power lines and trees that touch power lines.
