BATH — Barbara Rose Wyman, 82 of Bath, died peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. She was born in Bath, daughter of Swanton H. and Margaret Donahue Wyman. She attended Small Point Schools and graduated from Morse High School in 1947. She graduated from Gorham State Teachers College in 1951. At Gorham she was crowned “Campus Queen” at their Winter Carnival. After graduating from Gorham State she taught in Orono for two years and then went on to live and teach in Gloucester, Mass. for 32 years. After retiring she came back to Small Point to the family home and had great fun working at Hermit Island Gift Shop with her “sidekick” Dotty Hinds. After tired of keeping up the Wyman home she retired to Dike’s Landing in Bath. Barbara was an avid Red Sox fan.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and was a Reader for many years. She was on the Board at the Bath Housing Authority.

Barbara is survived by her brothers George F. Wyman and his wife Barbara Ann of Brunswick and Gerald E. Wyman of Phippsburg. Also surviving is her beloved cat “Molly”.

Barbara is predeceased by her parents of Small Point , her sister Kathleen (Wyman) Robson of Woolwich and brothers Martin J. Wyman of Harpswell and Swanton Wyman, Jr. of Small Point.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday, July 25, 2012, 5-7 p.m. at the David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home, 638 High Street, Bath. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 144 Lincoln Street, in Bath, Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Phippsburg Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 83, Phippsburg, ME 04562.
