Central Maine Community College in Auburn has announced the dean’s list for the spring semester. CORY S. PARKS of Wiscasset earned high honors, while JAMES E. PRAY, also of Wiscasset, earned honors.
ERICA PAULETTE, a student in the University of New England’s College of Pharmacy, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester. She is a 2010 graduate of Brunswick High School.
SARA ROGERS of Topsham, a nursing student at the University of Maine, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester.
JORDAN DAIGLE of Topsham has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at University of Maine in Farmington.
SUSANNAH CARSON of Harpswell was named to the Miami (Ohio) University spring dean’s list.
RAYMOND-OLIVER ALVAREZ of Bath and the class of 2016 at Nichols College in Dudley, Mass., was named to the dean’s list for the spring term.
ALEXANDRA KANE, a member of the class of 2014 from Brunswick, has been named to the spring dean’s list at Loyola University Maryland.
NATHAN ROHMAN of Topsham was one of 1,035 students to graduate from Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I., this spring. He received a bachelor of arts in media communication degree.
COLBY FIKE of Brunswick and STEPHEN CREPS of Durham were both named to the honors list for the spring semester at the New England School of Communications at Husson University in Bangor.
KEEGAN McGOWAN of Phippsburg was named to the spring semester dean’s list at Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I.
Colby College in Waterville named the following area students to its dean’s list for the spring semester: • DAVID K. THOMAS, a member of the Class of 2015, is the son of David and Olivia Thomas of Bowdoin, and attended Mt. Ararat High School. • ANNA N. HERLING, a member of the Class of 2016, is the daughter of Douglas and Linda Herling of Bowdoin, and attended Cheverus High School. • CAROLINE H. MINOTT, a member of the Class of 2016, is the daughter of Laurie Minott of Bowdoin and James Minott of Brunswick, and attended Mt. Ararat High School. • EVA M. NECZYPOR, a member of the Class of 2016, is the daughter of Linda Iverson of Lewiston, and Thomas Neczypor of Brunswick, and attended Brunswick High School. • JAMIE R. ROSS, a member of the Class of 2017, is the son of Laurie Leader of Brunswick and James Ross of Brunswick, and attended Brunswick High School.
JENNIFER MEANS of Georgetown was inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society and Theta Alpha Kappa Religious Studies Honor Society at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa. She is the daughter of Jeffrey and Susan Means and a graduate of Upper Arlington High School.
CURRY COLLEGE of Milton, Mass., has named Matthew Nicholson of Lisbon Falls to the dean’s list for the spring semester. JENNIFER AUCLAIR of Brunswick, a member of the Class of 2016, has been named to the spring semester dean’s list at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
MORGAN RILEY of Richmond has been named to the Plymouth State University Dean’s List for the spring semester.
KELLEY McLELLAN of Topsham, a sophomore majoring in communication studies, and KAYLA McLELLAN of Topsham, a sophomore majoring in sports medicine, were both named to the spring semester dean’s list at Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass.
MEGEN POULIN of Brunswick graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in May.
RACHEL GROSS of Brunswick, a Wheaton College (Ill.) student, was recently recognized with a second place award in the “NonWord & Upward” student juried art exhibition. The award, given by the Art Department at Wheaton College, is given to an undergraduate student for work completed during the last two years.
Three local students were among 472 seniors to graduate from Colby College in Waterville on May 25. • CHRISTINA F. DAMON of Brunswick is the daughter of John Damon of Brunswick and Renee Freid of Amesbury, Mass., and majored in English and French studies. • ERIN A. FITZSIMMONS of Topsham is the daughter of William Fitzsimmons and Elizabeth Armstrong of Topsham, and majored in philosophy. • MEAGAN K. HENNESSEY of West Bath is the daughter of Michael Hennessey and Juanita Wilson-Hennessey of West Bath, and majored in environmental studies with a science concentration and economics. • CARLTON D. REED of Woolwich is the son of Thomas and Kathleen Reed of Woolwich, and majored in economics with a concentration in financial markets.
JORDAN JONES of Wiscasset, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, N.J., has been named to the honors list for the spring semester.
JACOB KENNEY of Harpswell and ALEX DENIS of Topsham have both been named to the spring semester dean’s list at Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne.
KATE DORSEY of Freeport and CYNTHIA LYNCH of Topsham were both named to the spring semester dean’s list at the University of Fort Kent.
COLBY GAIL of Topsham, a 2011 graduate of Mt. Ararat High School and a student at Bates College in Lewiston, earned New England Small College Athletic Conference All-Academic honors for the spring 2014 season. She is the daughter of Dr. Aubrey C. Gail and Elizabeth E. Baldwin of Topsham, and a member of the Bates women’s track and field team. She is majoring in rhetoric and American cultural studies at Bates.
VANESSA ROSE FITCH of Phippsburg and SETH RYAN WARD of Brunswick were both named to the spring semester dean’s list at the University of Maine at Machias.
Five Mid-coast students graduated from Boston University in May. Among them were, from Bath, DYLAN J. MORIARTY, bachelor of arts in biology, specializing in cell biology, molecular biology and genetics; LINCOLN H. BLISS, BA in English and political science, cum laude; and BENJAMIN H. NICHOLS, bachelor of science in computer engineering. Brunswick graduates include ALICE SHAW, master of arts in teaching in science education; and WINTHROP F. GILLIS, BA in biology with specialization in behavioral biology, cum laude.
Boston University recognized several students from the Midcoast as dean’s list recipients for the spring semester. Among them are LINCOLN H. BLISS of Bath; GILLIAN D. FORD, WINTHROP F. GILLIS and PAUL D. KOUSKY, all of Brunswick, and RYAN J. SMITH of Topsham.
NICOLE MARIE GIGGEY, a freshman majoring in molecular genetics at the University of Rochester (N.Y.), was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester. Giggey, a resident of Bowdoin, is the daughter of Jean Giggey and Thomas Giggey, and a graduate of Maine School of Science and Mathematics in Limestone.
ALESA MARY YUODSNUKIS, a junior majoring in philosophy and psychology at the University of Rochester (N.Y.), has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester. Yuodsnukis, a resident of Brunswick, is the daughter of Alan Yuodsukis and Lynn Yuodsukis, and a graduate of Brunswick High School.
JENNIFER MEANS of Georgetown, daughter of Jeffrey and Susan Means, graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts in political science and religion from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa. Means received the Charles Longley Prize in Political Science for best exemplifying a combination of high academic achievement and commitment to service. She is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha national political science honor society and Mortar Board national college senior honor society. In addition, Means was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester.
Several Mid-coast students were among the 564 graduates in May at St. Joseph’s College in Standish. They include ASHLEY BEAULIEU and SUZANNE BEAUDRY, both of Durham; VICTORIA BURKHART, DANIELLE TETU, CRYSTAL CARD and ALLISON ILES, all of Brunswick; CHELSEA JOHNSON of Bailey Island; and SHRADHA MILLER of South Freeport.
The Bank of Maine Charitable Foundation awarded 24 high school seniors a total of $24,000 in college scholarships under The Bank of Maine Scholars program. This program provides $1,000 to selected high school seniors to be used toward the cost of attending college. Local winners include: GEORGE ROWE of Brunswick High School, KYLE HUMMEL of Morse High School in Bath, KRISTEN PIERCE of Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham, MEGAN BARTO of Richmond High School and NATHAN HOWARD of Wiscasset High School.
Bath resident ANNA K. LASER, a nursing major, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pa.
MOHAMED YUSUF of Freeport was the recipient of the University of Southern Maine’s Outstanding Contribution to Campus Diversity Award for his commitment to encouraging cultural diversity and acceptance in the USM community. Yusuf, an international politics major, has been involved with the International Relations Association, the Multicultural Student Association and the Muslim Student Association throughout his academic career. He also served as a spokesperson for the local Somali community and in leading a delegation to meet with Maine’s congressional representatives.
ERIK TANG LY, a junior at Freeport High School, was one of three winners of the “Governor’s Young Writers of the Year Award.” The A Journey Into Writing contest is open to all high school juniors and home-schooled students of the same age.The three students were each presented with an award and a $2,500 check by Gov. Paul LePage. Evan Tims of Freeport High School won $500 as one of the 12 finalists.
RACHEL CLEGG of Brunswick graduated from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y., on Sunday, June 15. Clegg was a neuroscience major.
NICHOLAS MORIN of Brunswick was awarded a bachelor of science degree in robotics engineering with high distinction during the commencement ceremony at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
ALLISON WALTON of Brunswick and a member of the class of 2015, has been named to the spring semester dean’s list at Providence (R.I.) College.
JASON CARTER of Brunswick was named to the spring semester dean’s list at the University of Hartford (Conn.).
CAITLIN FOSTER of Woolwich, part of the biomedical photographic communications program in Rochester Institute of Technology’s College of Imaging Arts and Sciences, was named to the spring semester ean’s list.
ERIC DOWD of Richmond graduated with a bachelor of science in communication degree from Castleton (Vt.) College following the successful completion of the spring semester in May.
STEPHEN M. CARTER, son of Alan and Joan Carter of Brunswick and a senior majoring in sport management, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at Endicott College in Beverly, Mass.
ELIZABETH CHRISTINA BOYNTON of Durham received a bachelor of science cum laude in nursing from Norwich University at the May 10 commencement ceremony held in Northfield, Vt.
ANNA V. TITOVA of Freeport, a junior in the College of Liberal Arts at University of Minnesota Twin Cities in Minneapolis, was named to the spring semester dean’s list.
LUCY RAWSON of Bath was named to the spring dean’s list at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, N.C.
TESS HITCHCOCK of Bowdoinham, visual art studies major at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I., was named to the spring semester dean’s list.
AIDAN BOARDMAN, a native of Harpswell, graduated in May from Ithaca (N.Y.) College’s School of Music with a degree in music education.

KAYLA SCARPONI of Brunswick, a senior studying management at Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I., was named to the spring semester dean’s list.
Senior VICTORIA OLIVER of Brunswick has been named a resident assistant at Alvernia University in Reading, Pa., for the upcoming academic year. Oliver is majoring in Forensic Science at Alvernia and is a graduate of Brunswick High School. She was also named to the spring semester dean’s list.
