BRUNSWICK

As Monday approaches, Midcoast high school athletes should be gearing up.

Yes, the first day of fall practices is nearly upon us, with Monday morning kicking things off for most sports.

Below is the information that area co-curricular counselors have put out with regards to participation this season. Remember, all athletes must fill out paperwork in order to participate, especially the medical forms.

The Eagles will feature six fall teams again this season, with all practices beginning on Monday.

Cross country runners meet Monday through Thursday at the high school from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The annual Alumni Meet will be held at Brunswick High School Aug. 19 at 9 a.m.

Golfers hit the fareways and greens every day next week at Highland Green Golf Club from 8-11 a.m.

Field hockey meets at the high school. On Monday and Tuesday, practices will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., as well as from 5-7 p.m. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the Eagles practice from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., and from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Football will practice twice daily, with sessions running from 8 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., and from 3 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

Boys soccer will be at Woodside Elementary School, with two practices held on Monday and Tuesday (7-9 a.m.; 5-7 p.m.). Wednesday will feature only the 7-9 a.m. practice.

And, girls soccer meets from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday, before breaking down and practicing from 5- 7 p.m. the rest of the opening week.

Lisbon

All Greyhounds who are in good academic standing are eligible for the fall season. They must sign a Co- Curricular contract, take an impact test, and freshman and juniors must provide a copy of their physical prior to Monday.

Football meets on the practice field each day from 7:45 a.m.. to 10:15 a.m., and again from 3:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Boys soccer has the soccer field from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., while the girls will meet from 8-10 a.m. on Monday. The rest of the girls schedule will be provided after the initial practice.

Field hockey has two sessions Monday and Tuesday — 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The final three days next week will be announced.

Cross country meets from 8-10 a.m. at Beaver Park in Lisbon on Monday, while cheering is set to practice Monday from 5-7 p.m.

Freeport

The Falcons have a full slate of teams for the fall, with six squads in action.

Boys soccer meets Monday on the high school soccer field from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, while Tuesday and Wednesday will feature practices from 8-11 a.m. The teams will be announced after practice on Wednesday, with practice times for the varsity from 8- 11 a.m., jayvees from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and the First Team from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Girls soccer kicks things off with a team meeting on Monday (on the soccer field) at 8 a.m. (paperwork will be turned in), with practice held all week from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Field hockey meets 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. throughout the week, while the cross country squad runs from the front lawn of the high school from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Cheerleaders will meet each day from 4-6 p.m. in the Freeport High School cafe.

Golfers will meet at Freeport Country Club at 3:30 p.m. each day, and the football squad is in action at Pownal Recreation Field beginning Monday from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and from 3-6 p.m.

A note for football players — Equipment and pads will be issued on Sunday at 6 p.m.

Brunswick

Brunswick has the most fall sports this season, as girls volleyball has been added to the docket, giving the Dragons seven fall sports.

The cross country team meets at the Amphitheater at 8 a.m. on Monday.

Field hockey has two sessions each day, practicing from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., including working out in the weight room, and from 6-8 p.m. The Dragons will compete in a round robin at Yarmouth on Aug. 20, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Cheering meets behind the gym (in cafe if raining) on Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. On Aug. 19, the team gets together from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

Football lineman practice from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Monday, with skill players on the field from 9-11 a.m. Practices move over to Thomas Point Beach on Monday from 5-7 p.m., with freshman practicing at the high school from 5-7 p.m. The team practices on Tuesday at Thomas Point Beach from 8-10 a.m., then returns for a team practice from 5-7 p.m.

Practices remain constant throughout the remainder of the week, with lineman from 7:30 a.m. 9 a.m., skill players from 9-11 a.m. and team practices from 5-7 p.m. On Aug. 20, the team practices from 8-10 a.m.

Golfers meet Tuesday- Thursday at Brunswick Golf Club from 3-5 p.m.

Girls soccer is at Coastal Performance each morning beginning Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Evening practices for girls soccer takes place from 5-7 p.m. on the high school field. The Dragons play at Cony on Aug. 20.

Boys soccer will be at Crimmins Field each day from 8-10 a.m. and 4-6 p.m., with a preseason round robin at Lewiston taking place on Aug. 20.

And, girls volleyball will be inside the high school gymnasium. Practices Monday, Wednesday and Aug. 19 will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., while Tuesday and Thursday sessions take place from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Morse

The Morse football team is set to open on Monday.

Players are asked to report to the Bath Middle School locker room at 3 p.m.

Practices will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
