BRUNSWICK — Seventhseeded Highland Green scored 11 unanswered runs to upset No. 2 Brunswick, 14- 5, at Edwards Field in a Zone III American Legion quarterfinal baseball game on Sunday.
Highland Green (7-12) faces No. 3 Pastime Club of Lewiston (14-5) today in the semifinals at Auburn Suburban Field. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
Brunswick finished its season with a 14-5 mark.
Down 3-1, Highland Green tied the game in the fourth and added three more in the fifth for a 6-3 lead. A six-run seventh frame put the game away.
Eddie Stewart continued his hot hitting, picking up three hits, including a double. In the last five games, Stewart is 12-of-17 at the plate.
Reilly Kons drove in five runs for Highland, while Liam Brannigan singled four times and Sam Coombs twice.
Ellison Etnier earned the mound win and combined with Kons on seven hits, three walks and four strikeouts.
Andrew Kopocius doubled twice to lead Brunswick, while Brady Larson picked up a double.
