WISCASSET
A new town manager has been selected to begin in August, the Wiscasset Board of Selectmen announced in a Tuesday press release.
Marian Anderson, of Boothbay, has been hired as the Wiscasset town manager, and her contract was approved by the selectboard at their Tuesday night meeting.
The town manager of Richmond since 2009, Anderson is set to begin on Aug.18, with an annual starting salary of $78,000.
“Marian brings a wealth of municipal experience as a town manager, assessor and code enforcement officer to Wiscasset,” the press release stated, “from her previous positions in Richmond, Bootbay, Waterville, Gardiner and Bar Harbor.”
In addition to her previous experience as a town manager, Anderson is a certified Maine assessor, certified code enforcement officer and certified plumbing inspector.
A graduate of the Edmund S. Muskie School of Public Service and Municipal Leadership, Anderson has served on the Boothbay Region Community Resource Board and the Lincoln County Animal Shelter Board, and currently is a trustee of the Maine Municipal Employees Health Trust.
Anderson will be replacing Don Gerrish, an Eaton Peabody consultant who has served as interim town manager since February. Former town manager Laurie Smith left Feb. 7 to become town manager of Kennebunkport.
