TOPSHAM — Chad Snowman’s two-run seventh-inning double with two outs in the seventh inning lifted Locke Mill of Bethel to a come-from-behind 4-1 win over Highland Green in an American Legion Zone III baseball game on Saturday.
Locke Mill (5-5) won the opening game of the doubleheader, 8-1.
Highland Green dropped to 5-6 and visits Smith-Tobey of Bath today at 5:30 p.m.
In the opener, Logan Bartlett went the distance on the mound for the visitors, holding Highland Green to just two hits, striking out seven and walking nine.
Snowman and Tyler Frost singled and doubled in the win, while Bartlett added a pair of singles.
Cam Cox and Riley Kons each singled for Highland Green. Liam Brannigan, Ellison Etnier and Sam Coombs combined on the mound on eight hits, three strikeouts and six walks.
Highland Green jumped on top 1-0 in the third inning of Game 2. Mike Stewart was solid on the mound, going the distance on five hits, four walks and 10 punchouts.
But, Locke Mill rallied in the seventh. With the bases loaded, Snowman doubled to give his team a 2-1 lead, and Gavin Arsenault followed with a two-run single to complete the four-run uprising.
Arsenault held Highland Green to four hits, struck out and walked two.
Coombs, Brannigan, Etnier and Justin Pierce each singled in the loss for Highland Green.
