
She was born in Brunswick on Nov. 26, 1933 , the daughter of Cecile Brassard and Lucien Pinette. Lucille had two brothers, Lionel and Paul with whom she enjoyed playing and visiting relatives in Canada. Lucille attended Brunswick schools and graduated from Brunswick High School.
Mrs. Caron was the first woman in her family to attend college at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Portland. She graduated in 1954 and started her nursing practice at Bath Memorial Hospital in the operating room. On June 15, 1956, she married Albert C. Caron at St. John the Baptist Church in Brunswick. The couple adopted two children, Valerie C. Sauda of Bangor and Michelle “Mimi” Hendrickson of McLean, Va.
Lucille continued her role as a registered nurse within the private medical practice of Dr. Louis Bachrach in Brunswick where she continued until the retirement of Dr. Bachrach. She continued to work within the practice of Dr. David Schall, and ended her nursing career in her ’70s with Bowdoin Medical Group as a transcriptionist. Her over 50 year nursing career provided support and encouragement to many patients within the greater Brunswick area.
She was admired by her friends as being caring and always willing to help when needed. Lucille enjoyed square dancing with her friends and husband for many years and also enjoyed camping with her family at Four Seasons in Naples. In later years, she enjoyed traveling with her friend, Henry Mosher of Gray. She had a very special bond with her grandchildren, Kayleigh, Austen, Erynne, Seth and Carolyne. The older grandchildren often visited her at camp, played games or watched movies at her home.
Lucille is pre- deceased by her parents, her husband, and her brother Lionel. She is survived by her brother, Paul Pinette and sister-inlaw, Shirley of Kingston, N.H.; sister-in law Ursula and brother-in-law Roland Pinette of Richmond, and sister-in-law Joanne Pinette of Bethlehem, Pa.; daughter Valerie and husband Michael Sauda of Bangor, and daughter Michelle and husband Capt. Eric Hendrickson, USN, of McLean, Va.; her five grandchildren, Austen, Seth, Kayleigh, Erynne, Carolyne; two nephews, Michael Pinette and Roland Pinette; a niece, Dorothy Theriault; and several grand-nieces and – nephews.
Visiting hours will be at the Stetson Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick, on Friday, July 11, from 3-5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 12, at noon at St. John the Baptist Church- All Saints Parish, Pleasant Street, Brunswick. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Brunswick.
