MEXICO (AP) — Police in Mexico are investigating after someone set off a homemade bomb inside a church mailbox.
Lt. Dan Carrier says the bomb actually went off Friday night, but because that was July Fourth, neighbors who heard the explosion at the First Baptist Church thought it was fireworks and didn’t report it.
He tells the Sun Journal (http://bit.ly/1odzuMA ) it wasn’t until about 11 a.m. Saturday when someone realized that a makeshift bomb had gone off in the mailbox.
The explosion remains under investigation and anyone with any information is asked to call police.
